About / Eli Varen
A voice shaped
by feeling.
Musician, songwriter,
and photographer.
Songs, words, and images exploring the places where music, language, and everyday life meet.
The way I work
Life, a little
closer.
Music is one way I make sense of everyday life. I am drawn to the details that are easy to miss: a passing thought, a conversation, a place, or a feeling that stays long after the moment has gone.
My songs grow from feeling and reflection. Words give those experiences a shape; music gives them room to move. I am interested in the connection between the things we live through and the things we learn to say.
Alongside music, I explore language, keep a journal, and make documentary photographs. These are different ways of paying attention to the same world.
Three ways of paying attention
01
Music
Songs shaped by emotion, memory, and reflection. A place for the moments that stay with us.
02
Words
Lyrics, journal entries, and thoughts on language and the everyday experiences behind a song.
03
Images
Documentary photography and observations from life beyond the music.
